Sunday 11th December, Front Page

Julie and I attended the local Ministers Association this week and for a time we all shared our childhood memories of Christmas. Most memories centred on gifts, Santa Clause, family events and the like. As each one shared I pondered on the real meaning of Christmas. Today so many take the ‘Christ’ out of Christmas, for so many it is merely Xmas. As I though about it I was reminded of a little song we used to sing, maybe we will sing it here in the next couple of weeks? It’s very simple.

Christmas isn’t Christmas, until it happens in your Heart.
Somewhere deep inside you is where Christmas really starts.
So give your heart to Jesus,
And you will discover when you do
That Christmas is really Christmas
For you.

That little song really sums up the reality of Christmas doesn’t it?
Christmas is all about Jesus and when you strip away all the tinsel and trimmings, if you don’t have Jesus, well, you have nothing.
Let me encourage you today, wherever you are in the next couple of weeks, maybe you can help someone put the ‘Christ’ back into Christmas.
Blessings Blair
