God told Joshua to cross over the Jordan and to go in and possess the land. Notice he said “possess the land” a phrase that implies action. Our salvation is the same, we have a ‘promised land’ and when we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord, we too must take possession of what is promised to us. To take possession is to drive out the previous tenants; it involves a conscious decision to take affirmative action. The things that bound us, the past mistakes, the ‘gods’ we used to follow, all must be put behind us, and the promises of God, the victorious life offered to us must be embraced. When you do that you can be guaranteed of victory arising in every area of your life and you will truly discover, as Joshua did, just what it means to ‘cross over and possess the land’
Today we have with us two very special people who have lived the above, Janet and Richard Adams (and their three beautiful children). This special family come to us after many years of ministry in the Middle East and have something very special to share with us. We have known Richard and Janet since our college days at Tabor College and can endorse their great gift of prayer and their ministry gifts and I’m sure that should you require ministry today after either of our services, they will be pleased to pray with you.
We welcome them today and pray that God will use them mightily as they minister among us.

God Bless

"But just as you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us-see that you also excel in this grace of giving." (2 Corinthians 8:7).
Today’s word comes from Joel and Victoria Osteen, pastors of the United States largest church, Lakewood Church in Dallas Texas
“As a born-again believer, you have unlimited potential. Because of Christ in you, you can walk in unlimited faith, knowledge, love, and victory. The Bible encourages you to excel and grow in these areas and as you do, you will begin to experience that overcoming life of victory that God has in store for you. How do you excel in these areas? Just as a muscle grows when you exercise it, your faith grows when you exercise it-your love grows when you exercise it, and the grace to give grows when you exercise it.So make a commitment today to start your new exercise program and soon you'll become a champion in every area of life!”

I hope you are as inspired and as encouraged as I was from these words
Blessing

In the ‘Spiritual battle’ that Paul talks about in Ephesians 6, we can all be encouraged by the words of the apostle John when he writes “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." (I John 4:4)
The indwelling Holy Spirit in all believers enables you and me to claim and to live in the victory that is ours, won for us by our Lord Jesus Christ. Victorious living is all about living in response to what Jesus achieved for us on a cruel cross 2000 years ago.
It says in the Proverbs to keep your eyes fixed on the dreams and desires God has placed in your heart. This will keep you from focusing on the past and falling into the enemy's trap of self-pity. It's all about developing a godly self-image. It is important that we find out what God says about us through His Word, and boldly declare it! Joshua 1:8 tells us that when we meditate on, and declare the Word of God, we will be prosperous, successful, and wise. I hope you'll take hold of that promise and put it into practice every day of your life. Remember, you can overcome the past through Christ Jesus our Lord today!
Blessings,
Blair
