God told Joshua to cross over the Jordan and to go in and possess the land. Notice he said “possess the land” a phrase that implies action. Our salvation is the same, we have a ‘promised land’ and when we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord, we too must take possession of what is promised to us. To take possession is to drive out the previous tenants; it involves a conscious decision to take affirmative action. The things that bound us, the past mistakes, the ‘gods’ we used to follow, all must be put behind us, and the promises of God, the victorious life offered to us must be embraced. When you do that you can be guaranteed of victory arising in every area of your life and you will truly discover, as Joshua did, just what it means to ‘cross over and possess the land’
Today we have with us two very special people who have lived the above, Janet and Richard Adams (and their three beautiful children). This special family come to us after many years of ministry in the Middle East and have something very special to share with us. We have known Richard and Janet since our college days at Tabor College and can endorse their great gift of prayer and their ministry gifts and I’m sure that should you require ministry today after either of our services, they will be pleased to pray with you.
We welcome them today and pray that God will use them mightily as they minister among us.
God Bless
Blair and Julie
